For tutors in schools

You get paid for the session. Not for the prep.

For tutors working in a school or district tutoring program. Show up with the activity ready, and leave with results the classroom teacher can use. Made for one-on-one sessions, in person or over Zoom — not for running a classroom.

Three things that eat into every tutoring week.

Tutoring programs are judged on results, not on your prep time. These three frustrations come up in every tutor community, and Berdee was built to take all three off your plate.

Classroom tools get in the way of one-on-one tutoring.

Gradebooks. Period schedules. School-software hookups. None of it matters when you're working with one kid at a time across five different subjects. Berdee is built for one lesson, one student, one skill to work on — add a student in a minute, and no dashboards full of things you don't need.

The teacher needs to see the work.

The classroom teacher, the program coordinator and the family all want to know what's improving. Every answer, every score, session after session — Berdee records it as the lesson runs. You walk out with real results to share, not a vague "it went well."

Prep time is unpaid time.

Every hour spent hunting for the right activity or building slides is an hour you don't get paid for. Build a session once and adapt it for each student who needs it. And as the marketplace grows, you can pick up a ready-to-run lesson there and reuse it with every student.

Where the lessons come from

Two prep shortcuts. Neither starts from scratch.

There are two ways to cut prep. Pick whichever fits the session, or use both at once.

Build it once, adapt it every week.

Build a session in the studio, or start from a template. Then reuse it for every student who needs it.

Example

Forty-five-minute SAT reading session, multi-step inference, mid-difficulty, with a worked example in scene one.

5 scenes · swap the passage for the next kid

The activities keep working as you change them. You decide what each student needs — swap a passage, add a hint button, reorder scenes. On Plus, Ask Berdee can make those edits for you, and shows you each one.

Ready-made from the marketplace.

The marketplace opens with Berdee. Free and paid lessons arrive as educators who ran them with real kids publish them.

License once, reuse across every kid you work with. No per-student fees — the same lesson works for every student you tutor without a second charge.

The two work together. Buy a lesson from the marketplace and run it with as many students as you like. When this student needs something different, build it yourself in the studio.

A tutoring session, end-to-end

Four steps. One session. Zero printouts.

Here's what a focused reading session looks like — from the teacher's note to the results you share after.

  1. 1

    The teacher's note.

"She's getting every reading question wrong on timed tests — she understands the passage but panics on the questions." You have your target.

  2. 2

    Open your session.

Open the session you built last week and swap in a new passage, or start a new one from a template.

  3. 3

    Run it over Zoom.

Assign it and share your student's link (Free covers up to 5 students; Plus covers more). They play in any browser: no install, no password. You watch attempts stream in as they go. Adapt mid-session when they're ahead.

  4. 4

Share the results with the teacher.

The score, every answer, and how long each question took — all recorded during the session. Walk the teacher through it, so you both know what to work on next.

Built for the 1:1 model

Classroom tools weren't built for you. Berdee was.

You're not running a class of 25. You work one-to-one, pulling a student from class or meeting them over Zoom, and your tools should fit the way you work.

Pay for you. Not for the kid.

Per-student pricing doesn't fit tutoring — you work with many students across many subjects, not one class. One Berdee plan covers your whole roster, with no per-student fees.

Works over Zoom. No print-outs.

A shareable link. Any browser. Nothing to install. Share your screen or have them open it themselves — both work. Nothing to print.

Results you can show the school.

Teachers and families want to see what's improving. Every session leaves a record — scores and every answer — ready to walk through the moment the session ends.

A few more things

Built for the rest of your tutoring week.

The session is the headline. Here are the other places Berdee shows up.

The Berdee studio with a lesson called The Water Cycle open: the scenes in order on the left, a scene with tap targets over the sun, a cloud, the rain and a lake on the canvas, and that scene's settings on the right

Marketplace.

Opening with Berdee: free and paid lessons from other educators arrive as they publish. License once and use it with every student you tutor. No per-student fees, and every update the publisher makes is included.

Ask Berdee.

On Plus, ask for the change in the studio: swap a passage, re-level a question, add a worked-example scene. Berdee shows each edit; you handle the judgment.

Build your own.

38 widgets — hotspot, multi-choice, text-highlight, drag-and-drop, spin wheel, fill in the blank. Build the session the marketplace doesn't have. Publish it if you want.

Who can add students

Berdee is for tutoring you do for a school or district, whether you're on staff or in the school's own tutoring program. The school authorizes Berdee to keep its students' information, for their education only.

If families hire you directly, Berdee can't take your students yet: a parent would need to give us consent directly, and that isn't built yet. Until it is, please don't add students you tutor privately.
