About

Bruno the bear builder draws flat shapes on dot paper, and students draw them too. Students spot the shape whose sides all go on a slant, draw a triangle and a long rectangle like Bruno's cards, and describe them by their sides and corners. Then they play How Are They the Same?: find what two shape cards have in common, and draw a different shape that shares it. Every direction is read aloud, the dot paper checks each drawing when they tap Done, and spoken hints help after a wrong answer. Grade 1, about 10 minutes, standards 1.G.A.1.
