About

A kindergarten first look at flat shapes with Ollie the owl. Children decide which two teddy bears go together (there's more than one good answer), tap a storybook page and a board game to hear shapes described in everyday words like round, pointy, corners and sides, then pick the words that fit a shape, find round things like a clock and a wheel, and spot the shapes hiding in a busy picture. Every direction is read aloud, wrong answers get a spoken hint and another try, and the attempt page shows which descriptions each child recognized. About 8 minutes.

What's included

  • 11 narrated scenes: a Which Two Go Together? warm-up, a storybook page and a board game to explore by tapping, and 5 graded questions
  • Spoken hints and another try after every wrong answer
  • Per-question results on the student's attempt page

Learning objectives

  • Notice that things can go together in more than one way, and think about why.
  • Pick the words that fit a shape: round, pointy corners, long sides and short sides.
  • Find everyday things that are round, like a circle.
  • Spot the shapes hiding in a busy picture.
