About

A kindergarten lesson on fingers as a math tool. Rosie the raccoon leads a count to 10 with fingers, then children tell how many fingers are up by matching dot cards, see a full hand as 5, show 4 and 8 on on-screen hands, and sort numbers into "one hand" or "two hands". Every direction is read aloud, and every wrong answer gets a spoken hint.

What's included

  • 12 scenes with Rosie the raccoon, read aloud for pre-readers
  • A choral count to 10 with on-screen hands
  • Dot-card matching, show-it-on-the-hands and one-or-two-hands sorting
  • Spoken hints on every wrong answer

Learning objectives

  • Count to 10, putting up one finger for each number.
  • Tell how many fingers are up, from 1 to 10, and see a full hand as 5.
  • Show a number from 1 to 10 on two hands.
  • Tell which numbers fit on one hand and which need two.
