About

A narrated first-week kindergarten math lesson with Owl. Children meet four math tools, then get hands-on with two-color counters and a 5-frame: flip a counter from red to yellow, watch the squares counted 1 to 5, explore freely, fill the frame with one counter in each square, and say how many are in a full frame. They name the tools by picture and finish by counting to 10 together. Every direction is read aloud, wrong answers get a spoken hint and another try, and no reading is needed. About 7 minutes.

What's included

  • 10 narrated scenes with an interactive 5-frame and two-color counters children can place and flip
  • Graded checks: fill the 5-frame, how many in a full frame, and naming each tool
  • Spoken hints and another try after every wrong answer; no reading needed

Learning objectives

  • Recognize two-color counters and a 5-frame as math tools, and name them.
  • Explore counters and a 5-frame, putting one counter in each square to fill it.
  • Tell that a full 5-frame shows 5, and count to 10.
