About
Bruno the builder bear loves pattern blocks. Students fill hexagons in different ways with trapezoids, rhombuses and triangles, fill a big triangle and a rocket with smaller blocks, and find out why only squares fill a rectangle: only squares have square corners. Then they hunt for rectangles and triangles in Bruno's picture book. Every direction is read aloud, and each wrong move gets a spoken hint. Grade 1 geometry, about 12 minutes.
