About
Keep the equation balanced: whatever you do to one side, do to the other. Middle schoolers flip inverse-operation cards, then solve one-step addition, subtraction, multiplication and division equations by dragging, typing, choosing from a dropdown, filling in worked steps, matching equations to solutions and putting solving steps in order. They check a solution, turn a word problem into an equation, and finish with a speed round of equations rolling past on a belt. The ending shows a score for each skill, and every problem can be read aloud.
What's included
- Flip cards, matching, ordering, dropdown, fill-in and typed answers
- A speed-round finale with equations on a moving belt
- A hint after every wrong answer and a read-aloud button on every problem
- Separate scores for add and subtract, multiply and divide, and word problems
- 14 practice scenes covering all four operations
Learning objectives
- Use inverse operations to solve one-step equations with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Keep an equation balanced by doing the same thing to both sides.
- Check a solution by putting it back into the equation.
- Write and solve a one-step equation for a word problem.
