About
A narrated kindergarten math lesson with Mama Duck. Children act out a duck rhyme by dragging ducklings up the hill and back, see small groups of dots at a glance and match them to fingers, then decide which groups have the same number of things. Card sorts and a sneaky color trap (4 yellow bananas vs 3 yellow stars) show that a number belongs to how many there are, not what the things look like. Every direction is read aloud, wrong answers get a spoken hint and another try, and no reading is needed. About 8 minutes.
What's included
- 16 narrated scenes: a duck-rhyme warm-up, dot and finger matching, "Is it 3?" checks, card sorts and a color trap
- Spoken hints and another try after every wrong answer; no reading needed
- Named graded items so you can spot students who match by color instead of number
Learning objectives
- Say how many are in a group of up to 3 without counting.
- Tell whether two groups have the same number of things, even when the things look different or share a color.
- Match pictures of groups (up to 4) that have the same number of things.
