About

A kindergarten counting lesson with Owl. Children read an attendance board on two 5-frames (how many friends are here, how many are away), tap and move to count collections of acorns and mushrooms, show 7 acorns with counters on 5-frames and tap Done, judge whether a friend's drawing or 5-frames show the same number, and say how many pinecones there were after they are covered. Every direction is read aloud, and each wrong answer gets a spoken hint and another try.

What's included

  • 10 scenes: an opening, 8 activities and an ending
  • Every direction read aloud, with spoken hints after a wrong answer
  • Counting collections, 5-frames and same-number checks

Learning objectives

  • Read how many friends are here, and how many are away, from an attendance board on two 5-frames.
  • Count a collection of up to 10, then show the same number with counters on 5-frames.
  • Tell whether a drawing or a 5-frame shows the same number as a collection.
  • Say how many there were after a collection is covered, without counting again.
