About

A kindergarten shapes lesson with Ollie the owl. Children decide which three buttons go together, drag a plate, a door, a clock and more to the flat shape each looks like, then find the same shape even when it's turned, bigger, smaller or a different color, and tell a circle from an oval and a square from a stretched rectangle. Every direction is read aloud, each wrong answer gets a spoken hint and another try, and the shapes are drawn exactly.

What's included

  • 15 scenes, about 8 minutes, every direction read aloud
  • Which three go together? warm-up with reasons to hear
  • Two drag-and-match rounds: everyday things to flat shapes
  • Eight same-shape questions with exact shapes, spoken hints and auto-graded results

Learning objectives

  • Notice that things can go together in more than one way, and think about why.
  • Match everyday things to the flat shapes they look like.
  • Find the same shape even when it's turned, bigger, smaller or a different color.
  • Tell a circle from an oval, and a square from a stretched rectangle.
