About

A kindergarten lesson on counting and the idea that moving things doesn't change how many there are. Rosie the raccoon counts her cubes, puts the same cubes on a 5-frame, and plays Shake and Spill with counters. Children tap to count (or tap I know! when they already know), then show how many on a dot card. Every direction is read aloud.

What's included

  • 11 scenes, about 8 minutes, with every direction read aloud
  • 4 tap-to-count collections with an I know! option and spoken hints
  • A count-to-10 warm-up and 3 how-many-now questions on a 5-frame

Learning objectives

  • Count a group of up to 10 objects, one number for each.
  • Tell how many there are after the same objects are moved, without counting again.
  • See a full 5-frame and some more, like 5 and 2, as the same group as before.
