Plans
Compare Free, Plus, and Studio Pro and pick the plan that fits how you teach.
Berdee has three plans. You can start free and upgrade when you need more capacity — more saved lessons, classrooms, students, or AI and text-to-speech allowance.
Free
Perfect for a family or a small class. You get every available widget, up to 3 saved lessons, and full marketplace browsing, plus one classroom with up to 5 students. Assign lessons to those students, see how each one did, and grade their work, all on Free. No credit card required. Your account comes with that classroom ready to go: it's the My Classroom you see when you sign up. Free also includes 20 AI images a month to illustrate your lessons. Other AI features and text-to-speech come with Plus.
Every plan includes every available widget. (Drawing and Long Answer aren't available on any plan yet.) What the paid plans add is capacity and Berdee's AI features: the Assistant answering questions and building lessons for you, Ask Berdee in the studio, and text-to-speech voices all start at Plus. AI image generation starts on Free with 20 images a month, and Plus makes it part of a bigger monthly AI allowance.
Plus
For frequent individual use. Plus adds more classrooms and students (up to 5 classrooms and 150 students), higher saved-lesson limits, a monthly AI and text-to-speech allowance, and — on annual billing — a yearly bonus of marketplace credits. Choose Plus if you teach more than one small group and want to assign work to students without thinking about caps every week.
Studio Pro
For marketplace publishers and power users. Studio Pro includes everything in Plus, plus:
- Marketplace publishing with Stripe Connect payouts
- The largest AI/TTS allowance
- Publisher analytics and your own storefront
- Founding creator revenue share: the first 100 Studio Pro subscribers keep 100% of every marketplace sale, forever, with no platform fee. After the cohort fills, the standard share is 85/15 while you're on Studio Pro — see Founding Publisher. If you leave Studio Pro, your lessons stay for sale at a 50% share; see Payouts
Studio Pro's saved-lesson, classroom, and student limits are generous and never block you: if you're a genuinely heavy user, you'll see a friendly notification, not a wall. AI and text-to-speech are the only allowances that run out — see AI and Voice.
Switching plans
You only ever have one subscription. To move between Plus and Studio Pro, open Settings → Billing and choose the plan you want: Upgrade to Studio Pro or Switch to Plus. Stripe opens a confirmation page for exactly that plan and shows what you'll pay before you confirm.
- Moving up (Plus → Studio Pro) takes effect right away. You pay the difference for the rest of your current billing period now, not at renewal.
- Moving down (Studio Pro → Plus) also takes effect right away. The time you already paid for becomes credit on your account, and it pays toward your next bills automatically. It isn't refunded to your card.
- Monthly or yearly: pick the billing period with the toggle above the plans before you choose. The pricing page opens on Yearly, which shows each plan's price per month alongside the yearly amount you're billed, and how much you save compared with paying monthly. To change only the billing period on the plan you already have, use Manage subscription.
Tax may apply based on your billing address. To cancel, use Manage subscription; you keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for. Cancelling isn't refunded. Stripe asks why you're leaving; answering is optional, and the reason you pick helps us decide what to improve. Changed your mind before the period ends? Open Manage subscription again and renew it to keep your plan.
Cancelling or moving to Free
When your plan ends, your account moves to Free. Nothing you made is deleted, and the billing page lists what changes under If you cancel, right next to Manage subscription.
You keep:
- All your lessons, and you can keep editing them.
- Your classrooms and students.
- Assigning lessons, seeing results and grading. Everything you already assigned stays, with each student's attempts, and you can keep assigning to the classrooms and students you have.
- Your students' access to lessons you've already assigned. They can still open and finish them, and their work still shows up in your results.
You lose:
- Adding classrooms or students beyond Free's limits. Free includes one classroom with up to 5 students. If you have more than that, you keep them all, but you can't add another classroom or student until you're back within the limit (for example, after removing ones you no longer use).
- AI features beyond Free's 20 AI images a month, and text-to-speech voices.
- Making new lessons once you have 3 or more (Free saves up to 3).
- On Studio Pro: publishing new marketplace listings.
On Studio Pro, your marketplace listings: your existing listings keep selling, but you'll earn 50% of new sales instead of 85% (founding publishers keep 100%). Sales made before your plan ended keep the share they were made at. Publishing new listings needs Studio Pro, and choosing Studio Pro again brings back 85% for every sale after that. See Payouts.
To pick up where you left off, choose a plan again under Settings → Billing.
When Stripe brings you back, the page tells you where the change got to, the same way it does after a payment (below). A switch you backed out of changes nothing.
After you pay
Stripe brings you back to Settings → Billing, which tells you where your payment got to:
- "Payment received. Switching you to Plus." Stripe has taken the payment and we're waiting for it to reach your account. This usually takes a second or two, and the page updates on its own.
- "You're on Plus." Your plan is live. If you started from a lesson you were publishing, there's a Back to your lesson button to pick up where you left off.
- "Stripe has your payment, but your plan hasn't switched over yet." Rare, and it doesn't mean anything went wrong with the payment. Give it a minute and use Check again. You don't need to pay again.
If you close the checkout without paying, you'll see "Checkout canceled. You haven't been charged."
If a payment fails
If a renewal payment doesn't go through, we email you ("Your payment didn't go through") once for that bill, with the plan and the amount. Stripe retries your card over the following weeks, and your plan stays as it is while it does. To fix it, open Settings → Billing → Manage subscription and update your card; the next retry uses it.
If the payment still can't be collected, the subscription ends, your account returns to Free, and we email you to say so. Nothing you made is deleted: your lessons, classrooms, students and marketplace credits stay where they are, you can still assign lessons and see results, and the Free plan's limits apply to anything new (see Cancelling or moving to Free). To come back, choose a plan under Settings → Billing, the same way you did the first time.
