Account Settings

4 min read

Find your profile, notifications, privacy, plan, usage, publisher profile, and payouts in one place, turn off tracking, and learn what closing your account does.

Everything about your account lives on one Settings page. Open it from your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then choose Settings. It opens on your profile.

The Billing and Notifications items in that same menu are shortcuts that open Settings straight to those sections.

The same menu also links to the Help center and to step-by-step Tutorials. Both open in a new tab, so a lesson you're building stays open where you left it.

Moving between sections

On a wide screen, the sections are listed down the left side of the page. On a tablet, a narrower window, or a phone, the same sections sit in a row across the top instead. Either way, the section you're on is highlighted, and every other section is one click away.

What's in each section

Account

  • Profile — the name shown next to your classrooms and on your publisher storefront, and the role that best describes you (classroom teacher, speech-language pathologist, and so on). Berdee uses your role to tailor your dashboard. Your sign-in email is shown here too. To change it (say you've moved schools), contact us, from that address if you still can. Once we've changed it, you're signed out on every device and both addresses get an email; sign in again with the new one. If you sell lessons, change your Stripe payout login in Stripe yourself: we can't change it for you. Choose Save changes when you're done; if a change can't be saved, the page tells you so under the form and keeps your edits so you can try again.
  • Notifications — the Marketing emails switch (emails about lessons you've bought, like a new version from the publisher), and a list of what always arrives: purchase receipts, account emails, annual bonus credits, and, if you sell, sale notifications and payout notices, because they're about money you've spent or earned. See Email Preferences.
  • Privacy — the Do not track me switch, which turns off product analytics for your account. See Turning off tracking below.

Subscription

  • Billing — compare Free, Plus, and Studio Pro, upgrade, or manage an existing subscription. See Plans.
  • Usage — how much of this month's AI and text-to-speech allowance you've used, and when it resets. See AI and Voice.

Selling

  • Publisher profile — the storefront buyers see: your display name, bio, website, and links. Your storefront address is created the first time you save it. See Publishing to the Marketplace.
  • Payouts — connect Stripe so you can be paid for marketplace sales. See Payouts.

You'll see the Selling section on every plan. Setting up a publisher profile is free; publishing a lesson for sale needs Studio Pro.

Turning off tracking

Berdee measures which pages and features educators use so we can see what helps and what gets in the way. You can turn that off at any time.

  • For your account: open Settings, then Privacy, and switch on Do not track me. It applies on every device you sign in on, and it also stops the account activity we send to our analytics provider, such as "created a first lesson". It saves as soon as you flip it.
  • For one browser, signed in or not: use the Do not track me switch at the bottom of Berdee's public pages, like the home page, this help center, and the tutorials.
  • Automatically: if your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, Berdee doesn't track that browser, and you don't need to do anything.

Turning tracking off never changes your lessons, classrooms, or your students' work, and it doesn't stop receipts, billing records, or sign-in security. Student pages are never tracked, whatever this setting says. You can turn tracking back on whenever you like.

Closing your account

To close your account, email support@berdee.app from your account's email address. Closing it:

  • cancels your paid plan, if you have one, so you aren't charged again;
  • removes your name and email, and clears your publisher profile's name, bio and photo;
  • signs you out on every device, and disconnects ChatGPT, Claude and Google Classroom;
  • deletes the students only you teach, with their answers and scores. A student who also has another Berdee teacher stays with that teacher;
  • unlists your marketplace lessons, so buyers' students can no longer open them;
  • deletes your lessons' History and your AI lesson plans, and deletes your analytics data.

Your lessons, uploaded pictures and recordings, class names and AI assistant conversations are kept without your name, so a lesson another teacher added with your share code keeps working for their students. If you'd like those deleted too, say so in the same email. Before you close, take anything personal out of your lessons, like your name on a title scene, and ask for a refund of any unspent credits you paid for. The Privacy Policy has the details.
