AI Grading
How learners' work is scored on Berdee, what that means for the long answer widget, and what happens to learners' answers.
Berdee doesn't use AI to grade learner work.
Every score a learner gets comes from what you set up in the studio: the correct answers for a question, the points it's worth, and the scoring rules for the scene and lesson. See Grading and Score for how those add up.
Long answer
The long answer widget has AI grading settings in its Configure dialog — an AI model, a rubric, a model answer, and an option to show the AI's reasoning. AI grading isn't turned on, so those settings aren't used, and long answer responses aren't scored at all. The long answer page explains what the widget does today and why we suggest turning its Scoring off.
Your learners' answers
Learners' answers are stored with their attempt in Berdee. They are not sent to any AI service.
Berdee's AI features help you build lessons, like Ask Berdee in the Studio. None of them judge learner work.
