Configuring a Flashcard
Set up a Flashcard's front and back — text and optional images — in a roomy Configure dialog, opened right from the canvas.
A flashcard has a front and a back: the front shows the prompt, and the learner taps to flip it and reveal the back. You set up both faces in a dedicated Configure dialog so you have room to work, instead of squeezing them into the narrow right sidebar.
A flashcard is purely informational — it isn't graded — so its Configure dialog has a Content section only, with no Scoring.
Opening the Configure dialog
Select a Flashcard on the canvas. A floating ⚙ Configure button appears just above it. Click it to open the dialog. Alongside the Content section you'll see a live preview of the card's front face, so you can see what the card will look like on the canvas while you edit (you can't see the card itself behind the dialog).
Setting up the two faces
Work in the Content section:
- Front Text — what the learner sees first (the question, word, or prompt).
- Back Text — what's revealed after the flip (the answer or explanation).
Adding an image to a face
Each face can also carry an image. Click Set image under a face to pick a picture from your media library. Once chosen, the dialog shows the image's file name with a small thumbnail; use the image button to swap it for a different one, or the ✕ to remove it and go back to text only. The front and back images are independent — you can set one, both, or neither.
A good pairing is a picture on the front and the word or definition on the back (or the reverse) — for example, a photo of the Eiffel Tower on the front and "Paris" on the back.
Saving your changes
Nothing you change in the dialog affects the card until you save it. The canvas keeps showing the last saved version while you work.
- Save applies your Content changes to the card.
- Cancel throws the changes away and leaves the card as it was. Pressing Esc, clicking the ✕, or clicking outside the dialog does the same thing. If you've made changes, you'll be asked to confirm before they're discarded, so an accidental click can't lose your work.
What stays in the sidebar
Only Content moves into the Configure dialog. Style & Layout — the front and back background colors, text color, font, border radius, and the rest of the card's appearance — still lives in the right sidebar, the same as every other widget. Select the card and the sidebar shows its Style & Layout settings while the dialog handles the content.
