Lesson Previews
Every lesson automatically shows a preview image of its opening scene on your dashboard, the lesson page and, once published, its marketplace listing. Nothing to set up.
When you share a lesson with your class, learners and educators see a small preview image of what the lesson looks like. That image comes from the opening scene and updates automatically every time you save.
How it works
Berdee captures a snapshot of the opening scene when you save the lesson. The preview appears on the lesson page, on your dashboard's Pick up where you left off and Recent lessons cards (Your Dashboard), and on the lesson's card when you switch your lessons list to Thumbnail view (Your Lessons List), without any extra steps from you.

On the marketplace
If you sell or share the lesson on the marketplace, its listing shows the opening scene too, after your own preview images. Preview images are optional: a listing without any uses the opening scene as its cover.
The marketplace picture follows published versions, not your draft. It's taken when you publish, so shoppers never see edits you haven't published yet, and it's refreshed every time you publish again. If you change the opening scene, the listing keeps the previous picture until your next publish.
An empty opening scene is never added to a listing — a picture of a blank screen tells shoppers nothing. A new blank lesson begins with an empty opening scene, so put a title, an image, or your first question on it before you publish. A lesson started from a template already opens on a title card, so it has a picture from the start.

Which scene is used
The preview always shows the opening scene — the first scene in the scene panel. To control what the preview shows, put the scene you want learners to see first at the top of your scene list.

Empty or placeholder previews
If the opening scene has no content yet, the lesson page shows a neutral placeholder instead, and your dashboard shows a colored placeholder. Add widgets to the opening scene and save to generate a real preview.
