Searching the Help Center
Find the right article fast with keyboard shortcuts, fuzzy matching, and a category fallback when nothing comes back.
The help center has a search bar at the top of every page. It is built for the way educators actually look things up: a few words from memory, a hunch, a half-remembered widget name. You do not need to know the exact title.
Open the search from anywhere
You can focus the search bar in three ways:
- Press ⌘K on Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows or Linux.
- Press / anywhere on the page (as long as you are not already typing in another field).
- Click the search bar at the top of the help center.
Press Esc at any time to clear what you typed and close the dropdown.
Move through results without the mouse
Once you start typing, results appear right below the search bar.
- Use the down arrow and up arrow to move through the list. The selection wraps around at the ends.
- Press Enter to open the highlighted article.
- Press Tab to leave the search and continue to the rest of the page without opening a result.
Fuzzy matching forgives typos
The search ranks articles by title first, then description, then the headings inside the article, and finally the body text. Small typos still match — searching for flascard will surface the Flashcard widget article. Plurals, partial words, and slightly out-of-order terms work the same way.
Browse by category when search misses
If a search returns nothing useful, the dropdown shows a "Browse by category →" link back to the help center home page, where every article is grouped by topic. The empty state (with no query typed) also lists the eight categories so you can scan them at a glance.
If you cannot find what you are looking for, contact support and we will point you to the right doc — or write a new one.
